Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, Phase IV, ca. 450 to 700 CE. A hand-built pottery stirrup vessel of spherical form, its surfaces finely burnished with a smoothed stone. The beige exterior surfaces are decorated with a plethora of circular and spiraling motifs in umber pigment, and a slender spout rises above the stirrup-shaped handle. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 11" H (14 cm x 27.9 cm)
