Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, ca. 100 to 700 CE. A fabulous nose ring of a broad, ovoid form made from a hammered sheet of 64.5% gold (equivalent to 15K+). The lobed nasal accessory exhibits a flat form with two attachment prongs along the upper periphery and an exterior lining of stippling. The obverse displays a pair of repousse sea birds in flight with beaks nearly touching along the center of the ring. A fabulous and stylish nose ring that will surely be a statement piece!
