Description:

Northern Peru, Ca 500 to 800 CE. Fabulous if not a bit macabre! Copper warrior in full battle regalia holding shield in right hand, trophy head supported by rope in his left. This was a common practice among the Peruvian cultures. Taking and wearing trophy heads showed your fierceness in battle and imbued you with the powers of the deceased. 3" H.
