Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, Phase VI to V, ca. 600 to 800 CE. A mold-formed and highly-burnished brownware pottery vessel with a flat base, a circular body, a stirrup-shaped handle, and a tapering cylindrical spout. Atop the shoulders sit a pair of stylized frogs, each wearing a striated skirt, a plated waist band, and an impressed bead necklace. The upturned heads exhibit amusing, wide-eyed faces with tab-shaped noses above pouty lips. Size: 6.5" W x 8.7" H (16.5 cm x 22.1 cm).
