Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Moche, ca. 100 to 800 CE. An interesting abstract vessel that combines an architectural pyramid and the power of the ocean- in the form of a cresting wave with steps at that front. A brown register with black circles on the top of the wave resemble octopus tentacle suckers. The Moche worshipped ocean deities, such as, Ai Apec, the god, who harnessed the power of the sea and fierceness of land animals. Size: 6" L x 3.75" W x 7" H (15.2 cm x 9.5 cm x 17.8 cm)
