Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Rio Balsas, Mixtec, ca. 1250 CE. A raised tripod ceramic vessel with an incised grater pattern in tondo, intriguingly decorated with fish or perhaps another sea life or lizard-like creature as well as geometric and floral patterns on the interior and exterior. A beautiful polychrome finish in red with orange and white details. All supported by three animal paw feet with incised digits. A lovely piece of pottery from this ancient Mexican culture! Size: 8.25" in diameter x 4" H (21 cm x 10.2 cm)
