Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Mixtec culture, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A charming vessel comprised of a broad bowl supported by three rattle legs. Adorning the basin is an abstract avian figure delineated in red, orange, and white pigments, and surrounding this is a border of stylized glyphoids including wave, spiral, and stepped motifs. The exterior walls are more simply decorated with red pigment embellishing the legs and rim and white linear highlights on the rim. A lovely example! Size: 7.8" Diameter x 3.75" H (19.8 cm x 9.5 cm)
