Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mixtec culture, Rio Balsas, ca. 1250 CE. Carved from a large, dark green stone, and shaped to fit the contours of the material, this is a figure of a human dominated by its long arms and well-rendered fingers. The face is composed of a series of lines - horizontal for the mouth and eyes and diagonal to form a triangular nose. This is a rare, later form of the greenstone statues that pre-Columbian Guerrero is known for. Size: 2.2" L x 3.55" W x 5.9" H (5.6 cm x 9 cm x 15 cm)
