Native American, Southeastern United States, Mississippian / Caddo culture, ca. 11th to 16th century CE. A hand-built plainware vessel with a hemispherical shape, a rounded base, and a thick, scalloped rim. The form was created by coiling coarse shell-tempered clay, and paddle molding until smooth- but not polished - leaving a characteristic roughened surface. Size: 8" Diameter x 3.5" H (20.3 cm x 8.9 cm)
