Pre-Columbian, Peru (North Coast), Moche Culture, ca. 100 to 700 CE. A charming cast copper miniature of a warrior, crouched down on one knee, with a round shield in one hand and the other raised as if it once held a spear. He has large spooled earrings and a round headdress. The figure at one time would have been fully gilded. It is hollow in the center, and was likely a bead or sewn onto clothing as decoration. Size: 0.45" W x 0.6" H (1.1 cm x 1.5 cm)
