Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Cuzco region, Inca Empire, ca. 1400 to 1533 CE. An intriguing cast silvered copper male figurine presenting nude with a protruding phallus while standing atop delineated legs and sizable feet. The figurine, known as a huaca, is part of a larger votive depositing ceremony undertaken by high-ranking Inca citizens and members of royalty known as "capac huaca," or "royal obligation," to appease the gods as well as mark the geographic boundaries of the empire. The man peers forward with large, almond-shaped eyes behind a slender nose and has massive ears, a petite mouth, and a hat called a llautu that is typically woven from camelid wool. Cinnabar pigment accentuates the gleaming silver surface color and creates an appealing artifact perfect for any collection! Size: 0.71" W x 2.32" H (1.8 cm x 5.9 cm); 2.57" H (6.5 cm) on included custom stand.
