Description:

Ancient Central Europe, Bronze Age, ca. 1000 BCE. A cast-bronze lance head of slender form with a narrow blade bearing a pronounced midrib. Below the shoulder is an incised chevron with dramatic peaks, and below is a tapered cylindrical socketing shaft with a pin hole for an attachment pin. Fine layers of naturally-occurring patina have formed across the surfaces. Size: 9.875" L x 0.9" W (25.1 cm x 2.3 cm); 10.9" H (27.7 cm) on included custom stand.
