Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, Tlingit, ca. 1950s to 1960s CE, made by Tlingit silversmith Bill J. Wilson. An imaginative sterling silver bracelet in the form of a bear with engraved details and raised features forming an eye and nose. The head of the bear forms one terminal, and is shown in profile, with a rounded ear and a mouth full of fierce teeth. The narrow shank is decorated with fur-like motifs. The other terminal is one bear claw, also shown in profile. A wonderful and wearable example! Size: 2.75" W (7 cm); total weight: 25.3 grams.
