Native American, southwestern United States, Navajo tribe, ca. mid-20th century CE. A fine necklace composed of fifty-eight spherical high-grade (90%) silver beads - twelve of which have attached squash blossom beads with flared rims - and a horseshoe-shaped sterling silver (94%) pendant in the center. Each of the beads are formed from two soldered hemispherical halves, and those with attached squash blossoms have further soldering around the joint. A trio of polished turquoise stones are inlaid within slots on the terminals and the center of the pendant. A lovely and wearable example of fine Navajo artistry! Size (necklace): 26.625" L (67.6 cm); size (pendant): 2.375" W x 2.375" H (6 cm x 6 cm); quality of silver: 90% (beads), 94% (pendant); total weight: 101.8 grams.

  • Condition: Wearable as shown. Slight bending to overall form of pendant and squash blossom beads, and some minor abrasions to beads and turquoise stones, otherwise intact and very good. Light patina across all silver components. Pendant displays "15V" and an encircled "B" etched into verso.
