Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Borneo, eastern Kalimantan, Kenyah Dayak, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful rectangular panel which was attached to the back of a baby carrier, hand-crafted from thousands of petite beads in vibrant yellow, orange, blue, green, white, and black hues. The panel features several pairs of creatures including tigers, elephants, and hornbills, with several additional abstract animals, and a central sun form with an anthropomorphic face and projecting tendrils. Size: 13.125" W x 9.9" H (33.3 cm x 25.1 cm).
