Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, Protoclassic Period, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A hand-built pottery figure of a female 'pretty lady' standing atop slender, delineated legs. The woman presents nude with exposed genitalia and holds both arms out from rounded shoulders, and framing her neckline is a shell-bead necklace. Her sizable head features incised diamond-shaped eyes, a perky nose above thin lips, and spool-adorned ears, all beneath a centrally parted coiffure. Remains of red and white pigment are visible across the composition. Size: 2.125" W x 3.9" H (5.4 cm x 9.9 cm); 4.2" H (10.7 cm) on included custom stand.
