Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A set of 2 matching pottery figures standing with delineated legs while placing their hands atop their abdomens. Each face exhibits a slender nose flanked by raised, diamond-shaped eyes, and the surfaces are decorated with vibrant red-orange pigment. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 1.125" L x 1.9" W x 4.125" H (2.9 cm x 4.8 cm x 10.5 cm); 4.5" H (11.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-collection of the late Peter Arnovick, San Francisco, California, USA, acquired before 1995
