Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan / Colima region, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A pottery maskette of an annular convex form with a projecting, narrow nose with a septum ornament, full, gently-parted lips, and bulging, heavy lidded eyes, all flanked by a pair of tab-shaped ears. Six petite perforations line the periphery allowing the maskette to be strapped to another object. Size: 2.6" W x 2.6" H (6.6 cm x 6.6 cm)

Provenance: ex-Sullivan collection, acquired before 2000; ex-G. Martin collection, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, acquired in the 1980s
