Michael Weinberg (American, 1953-2016). Ceramic plate with central glass inlay, 2003. Signature and date inscribed on underside. A stunning hand thrown ceramic plate embellished with a large piece of art glass adorning the tondo by Michael Weinberg. This piece is embellished with colors of the Arizona desert which were Weinberg's muse throughout his career. The ceramic plate boasts brilliant red and black hues conjuring Western sunsets and desert nights. Complementing these glazes, the radiant triangular piece of hand-blown glass glimmers with royal blue, sea green, and violet hues. Size: 15.25" in diameter x 1.75" deep (38.7 cm x 4.4 cm)

Michael Weinberg created unique hand thrown ceramics with beautiful embellishments for more than three decades. Weinberg was honored with prizes and awards before he passed away in 2016.

Provenance: private Goldstein collection, Denver, Colorado, USA. The Goldstein's have amassed their collection over the past six decades.
