Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala, ca. 400 to 100 BCE. A striking Mezcala head with a dramatically pointed chin, carved from a gorgeous brownstone of an earthy, reddish sienna hue mottled with tan intrusions all over the surface, and finely string cut to create facial details. While created by the ancients of the Americas, the abstract lines and minimalist styling of this piece appeal to modern tastes as well. Custom, museum-quality stand. Lovely patina! Size: 3.5" W x 4.75" H (8.9 cm x 12.1 cm)

All of the profits from this sale of this piece will be donated to 6 animal charity organizations in Taos, New Mexico.
