Mexico, 20th century CE. Carved and painted with a striking face, a bald pate with hair on either side, an open mouth, and striking glass eyes. Those eyes really make this mask stand out from similar examples! Size: 7.5" W x 7.75" H (19 cm x 19.7 cm)

This mask was exhibited at "Mexican Mask of the 20th Century: A Living Tradition" Morris Museum, Morristown, New Jersey.

Provenance: From the Tryworks Collection compiled by the Rev. Richard and Jean Kellaway of Fairhaven, Mass.
