A wonderful pair of wooden sculptures - the angel Raphael holding his traveler's staff and a winged dragon with the face of a demon - all hand-carved from copal wood and elaborately painted in vibrant hues. Size of larger (dragon): 31.3" L x 17.6" W x 18" H (79.5 cm x 44.7 cm x 45.7 cm)

  • Condition: Wings of dragon have been reattached and are now detachable. Dragon is missing one toe of proper left foot and some spikes have been professionally repaired with break lines visible. Some small areas of old, inactive insect holes. Raphael's proper left arm has been professionally reattached with break line visible. Both have chips, nicks, and abrasions as shown, but otherwise nice remaining detail and great pigments. Dragon is tied with rope for suspension.
