Description:

Latin America, Mexico, ca. 1950s. A charming bichrome terracotta vessel of a globular form with an abbreviated neck and a flared rim, all supported upon a concave foot. The exterior walls are beautifully decorated with an elaborate program of stylized phytomorphic motifs - perhaps blossoms, fruits, or seeds with radiating leaves and tendrils - all delineated in chocolate brown on a creamy beige ground. A lovely example! Size: 12.375" in diameter x 9.25" H (31.4 cm x 23.5 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Moore collection, Denver, Colorado, USA, acquired prior to 1990
