Description:

Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, ca. late 3rd to early 2nd millennium BCE. A mold-formed pottery relief panel depicting a figure striding towards the rightmost border. The minimalist figure features broad shoulders, a circular head, and a gradually expanding body, and beneath the feet is a raised rectangle with four uniform quadrants. The raised lateral borders enclose the figure, and a semicircular impression along the lower periphery indicates where the clamp for the mold was shut. Size: 2.25" W x 5" H (5.7 cm x 12.7 cm); 5.25" H (13.3 cm) on included custom stand.
