Northern Europe, Denmark, Mesolithic to Neolithic period, ca. 3900 to 1700 BCE. This is a nice grey and white chert lance head with clear strike marks and some retooling, indicating a long period of active use. During the Danish Neolithic, hunters began to shift their lifestyle to agriculture; this required clearing and burning woodland and domesticating animals. An item like this was both a handy tool and a mark of status. Comes with custom stand. Size: 2.05" W x 6.8" H (5.2 cm x 17.3 cm); size on stand: 3.05" W x 7.8" H (7.8 cm x 19.8 cm).
