Description:

Near East, Persia / Iran, Seljuq Empire (Seljuk, Saljuq), Kashan, ca. early 11th to 13th century CE. A striking and elegant pitcher with a piriform body, low, flared disc foot, and strap handle. The rim is slightly rolled. The exterior is a sparkling, brilliant white color, with bold vertical lines of cobalt blue in stripes down the body and handle. The glaze has gorgeous craquelure and is pooled more thickly at the foot of the vessel. Kashan was a Persian city known for producing high-quality pottery during the medieval period. Size: 5" W x 7.45" H (12.7 cm x 18.9 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
