Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, ca. 550 to 900 CE. The Mayans are no strangers to the macabre! Here we have a fabulous piece depicting a figure wearing spooky costume with rather large skull mask. The mask presents quite the intimidating visage with its deep-set eye sockets and large toothy grin. Look closely and you will see the human masquerader's face within its mandibles! A wonderful example! Size: 3.25" W x 5.5" H (8.3 cm x 14 cm)
