Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, Mayan, late Classic period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A large, round-bottomed jar with a flared rim and an incised decorative register of repeating abstract geometric motifs. The upper half of the vessel as well as the exterior motifs are displayed in hues of light-orange, deep-red, and black; the lower half and interior are shown in natural buff color. Size: 6.75" H (17.1 cm).
