Description:

Pre-Columbian, Honduras, Ulua Valley, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 850 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery bowl with a round but stable base, gradually expanding walls, a thick rim, and a shallow basin. The basin interior is decorated around the walls with pseudo-glyphs in red, orange, and brown slip as well as a dot-filled ring encircling the unadorned center, and the beige-slipped exterior is unadorned save for a dark-brown stripe that rings around the rim. A sizable example from the ancient Ulua Valley! Size: 8.3" W x 3.125" H (21.1 cm x 7.9 cm).
