Description:

**Originally Listed At $300**

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A set of 3 hand-built terracotta molds for shaping 3 types of pottery figures. The first depicts a seated man with an ornate pectoral ornament and perhaps a spotted feline pelt around his waist. The second shows a standing figure with spirals atop his biceps, and the largest standing figure wears a sun-shaped medallion. Molds like these were used to make several batches of figures before they broke and were an efficient means of production over hand-making each individual figure. Size of largest: 5.875" W x 8.6" H (14.9 cm x 21.8 cm)
