Description:

Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. An elaborate pottery head of a deity or lord, crowned by a headdress with the head of a serpent projecting forward. Fleshy lips slightly parted, the expressive visage is adorned with a lengthy nasal ornament, while remains of glyph-like decoration surround the snake head. Size: 2.8" W x 4.5" H (7.1 cm x 11.4 cm); 8.5" H (21.6 cm) on included custom stand.
