Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A hand-carved jadeite bead depicting a Janiform head that exhibits mottled hues of forest and sage. The trapezoidal carving features string-cut grooves to denote the abstract physiognomy, and a suspension hole is drilled vertically through the body. Size: 0.57" L x 1.28" W x 1.09" H (1.4 cm x 3.3 cm x 2.8 cm)
