Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, Late Classic Period, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A beautiful necklace comprised of over 120 ancient beads made from greenstone, quartzite, and spondylus shell. The beads are tastefully arranged with the larger beads at the center. The beads are drilled and hand-carved with disc, spherical, and barrel shapes. All are made wearable with a lobster clasp and strung in modern times. Size of necklace: 23" L (58.4 cm); largest bead: 1" L x .25" W (2.5 cm x 0.6 cm)
