Pre-Columbian, Maya, ca. 550 to 900 CE. A redware pottery bowl with a grand circular rim and tapering body, sitting upon an annular base. Presenting in a warm shade of orange-red, this ancient vessel is beautifully adorned with twenty ochre-hued striations, organized into groups of five and equally spaced in four directions on its interior walls, as well as a lustrous burnish throughout. Two incised rings encompass the dish's sloped shoulder with a petite pair of rectangular embellishments protruding outward from it, on opposite sides. Size: 9" in diameter x 4.125" H (22.9 cm x 10.5 cm)
