Nicolas Quezada Celado (Mexican, Mata Ortiz, d. 2011), Pottery Olla, ca. late 20th century CE. A pottery olla vase signed "Nicolas Quezada" on underside. The surface painted in graceful abstract motifs. Nicolas Quezada Celado was a younger brother to celebrated Mata Ortiz potter Juan Quezada Celado (1940-2022), Nicolas and his siblings, learned pottery from Juan and followed in their brother's footsteps, becoming accomplished potters in their own right. Nicolas Quezada's work is part of Emory University Michael C. Carlos Museum. Size: 9" Diameter x 12" H (22.9 cm x 30.5 cm)
