Latin America, Mexico, Mata Ortiz, ca. mid to late 20th century CE; Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery jars, each from a different period of North American history. First is a larger Mata Ortiz jar of round-bottomed form with a series of black waves and a register of mirrored, red-painted triangles. The second vessel is a 20th century Hopi Sikyatki revival pottery jar with abstract avian motifs presented in hues of black and red. Size of largest (Mata Ortiz jar): 7.73" Diameter x 7.5" H (19.6 cm x 19 cm); (Hopi jar): 5.27" W x 5.1" H (13.4 cm x 13 cm)

    Condition:
  • Repair to Hopi jar with areas of restoration visible along interior; Mata Ortiz jar is intact. Both with light abrasions and fading to pigment, otherwise in great condition. Nice motifs.

Our shippers of choice are DHL for International shipments and UPS for domestic shipments, but we are able to ship via other carriers at the buyer's expense as deemed necessary or by request.

For shipments of oversize items, Artemis Gallery will assist the buyer in working with a third-party shipping provider. For shipments outside of the USA, customs and duties may apply upon entry into said country, and this fee, if any, is the buyer's responsibility.
