A fine Mata Ortiz style vase with intricately painted motifs that recall the ancient Puebloan and Mesoamerican pottery traditions that inspired them. The spherical exterior exhibits wondrous linear and geometric motifs painted in black that resemble a pair of abstract avian creatures or perhaps the mythological serpentine creature known as the Avanyu. Size: 10.4" Diameter x 8.2" H (26.4 cm x 20.8 cm)
