North America, Western United States, Utah, Sanpete County, North Horn Formation, Quitchumpah Creek, Upper Cretaceous era, ca. 100 to 66 million years ago. A massive, fossilized leg bone from a sauropod dinosaur with proximal and distal ends attached! The exact species of this bone is unknown, so we can only speculate - but the size and shape are suggestive of a femur / tibia / humerus of a sauropod (possibly Alamosauru). Sauropods are a type of large, herbivorous dinosaur, characterized by their long necks, massive bodies, and column-like legs. Some well-known sauropods include Brachiosaurus, Brontosaurus, and Diplodocus, and they were among the largest land animals to ever roam the Earth. Size: 11" W x 27" H (27.9 cm x 68.6 cm); 32" H (81.3 cm) on included custom stand.
