Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Amlash culture, ca. 1400 to 1000 BCE. An elegant and quite huge example of Amlash pottery: a bowl of graceful form with thick walls that rise up to an inward-curving rim, all sitting upon a narrow, planar base. A lustrous, apricot-hued glaze envelops the entirety of the piece, with burnished decorations in petite hash-lines at edge and series of long triple lines in 4 sections. Size: 17.75" W x 7.75" H (45.1 cm x 19.7 cm)

Provenance: Private Greenwood Village, Colorado, USA collection, via inheritance; Leota Furlong Agett Persian Pottery collection, acquired in Tehran, Iran in the early 1960s
