Description:

Western Europe, Switzerland, ca. mid-20th century CE. A rare Marsac Chronographe Suisse racing watch featuring an 18K gold case, 17 rubies, a manual-wind mechanical movement, and a crocodile leather band. The silver dial boasts gold-tone hour markers in Arabic numerals and indexes, with two subdials for tachymeter and telemeter. Marsac likely utilized generic Swiss chronograph movements, "Incabloc Chronographe Suisse" is stamped at the 6 o'clock position. Very little is known about the Marsac brand, which emerged alongside many small companies catering to the demand for Swiss-made timepieces in the mid-20th century. Like others, Marsac eventually closed or was absorbed by larger corporations in the 1970s. Despite this, the chronograph movements produced by Marsac and other now-forgotten brands remain highly functional. Particularly with larger solid gold models like this one, the value and classic style they offer today is exceptional! Size of case: 1.3" Diameter (3.3 cm); band: 7.25" L x 0.75" W (18.4 cm x 1.9 cm); gold quality: 75.7% (equivalent to 18K+)
