About the Artist: Born in Chicago, Mark Daily studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, but it was not until he discovered Nicolai Fechin's paintings and decided to move west to Taos, New Mexico that his artistic style truly took hold. Daily lived in Taos for 9 years, was inspired by the Taos Society of Artists as well as the undeniable beauty of New Mexico. He formed a strong community with fellow Taos artists Ned Jacob, William Sharer, and Buffalo Kaplinski. This group first showed in Taos and then moved to Denver where they became known as the Denver School.

  • Condition: Minute pinholes with slight circular impressions at corners. A few small surface stains to verso of canvas board. Otherwise excellent. Signature, title, and date handwritten on verso. French label on verso of canvas board. Slight surface wear to frame with minor nicks/losses as shown. Fit with suspension wire. Gilding on frame was tested via x-ray flourescence and contains 70% gold.
