Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Manabi culture, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A fine necklace strung with 51 petite pottery spindle whorls as well as a central ocarina pendant surmounted by a stylized feline creature. The spindle whorls are incised with delicate striations to form myriad motifs across their surfaces. Size: 36" L (91.4 cm); (central pendant): 1.29" L x 1.92" W x 2.29" H (3.3 cm x 4.9 cm x 5.8 cm)
