Description:

Magna Graecia, northern territories, Ionia, ca. 6th to 5th century BCE. An attractive kylix (drinking cup) of a wide, finely thrown form on a concave flared foot with twin slightly raised loop handles, decorated in a characteristic bi-chrome finish that takes advantage of the contrasting color between the rich black glaze and buff ground. The black glaze has attained some light iridescence with the passage of time. Size: 8.45" W x 2.9" H (21.5 cm x 7.4 cm)
