Description:

Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran and Southeastern Turkey, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A forged-bronze short sword with raised peripheries around the hilt meant for holding grippable inlays. Above the hilt is a lunate joint that feeds on to the shoulder of the blade bearing a thick midrib and sharpened edges. Thick patina has formed across the entire weapon. Size: 17.5" L x 2.25" W (44.4 cm x 5.7 cm)
