Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 2 cast-bronze spear components from ancient Luristan. The first component is a rectangular spear butt attached to a cylindrical socketing shaft. The larger components is the spear tip, a lengthy blade with broad lower fins and a curved tang for attachment. Both have developed layers of naturally-occurring patina over the centuries in mottled hues of green and brown. Size of largest: 14.125" L x 1.2" W (35.9 cm x 3 cm)
