Luristan, ancient northwestern Iran, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. Long sword cast in 2 pieces. Hilt with open flange, long rounded grip and distinctive hollow pommel once inset with inlays of bone or wood. Blade in one long section with tang that was inserted into the handle. Long rectangular ridge down entire length. A very formidable weapon of the time! Size: 28.5" L (72.4 cm)
