Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan culture, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A long bronze spear blade with a rounded flange and tapered insertion tang, the blade in a leaf-shaped form with a wide, flattened mid rib that runs up to meet the tang. Weapons like these would almost certainly have been entombed in the small rock graves in which their owners were buried; similar pieces come from the archaeological sites of Marlik and Kalar Dasht. Size: 1.5" W x 9.5" H (3.8 cm x 24.1 cm); 10.25" H (26 cm) on included custom stand.
