Northwestern Iran, Luristan culture, ca. late 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. Rare bronze short sword from this culture known for their fine bronze work. Shortish in length with long tapered blade with 5 raised central ridges, straight hilt, rounded spooled grip and crescent-shaped pommel. Grip appears to be filled with iron (very rare in Luristan weapons) which is causing the damage to this area.. A lovely choice example! Size: 17.875" L (45.4 cm) Size: 23" L (58.4 cm)
