Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A fine cast-bronze short sword with a thin overall composition. It features a flanged handle, a curved pommel end, and a concentric oval guard, and the blade has an elongated triangular shape which tapers gently to a rounded point. Atop a russet bronze ground, beautiful layers of light- and dark-green patina shrouds the surfaces of this wonderful ancient weapon! Size: 11.875" L (30.2 cm).
