Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. A cast-bronze short sword of a slender form with a narrow blade bearing a thick midrib as well as an integral tubular handle topped with forked prongs. Thick, mottled layers of orange, brown, and green patina cover all surfaces of this wonderful weapon. Size: 19.625" L x 3.3" W (49.8 cm x 8.4 cm)

Provenance: private J.H. collection, Beaverton, Oregon, USA, acquired between 2000 and 2001; ex-Priceless Past, Cumming, Georgia, USA
